I totally think that Tiggy's Fairytales is the biggest piece of garbage I ever bought.
Why did you buy it then?
I will also comment on your comment about Cascada's decision to stick with the same formula. If the majority of bubblegum lovers felt the same way about Aqua, then I'm pretty darn sure we wouldn't be having this discussion. Music lovers around the globe have gathered here to listen, discuss and even obsess over a style of music that influenced and modeled by "Barbie Girl." Most of the favorites seem to be closely related to "Barbie Girl" rather than say "Cartoon Heroes" or "In & Out" or "15 Minutes of Fame."
These popular artists have changed their sounds for the 2nd album with a less than exciting response from fans. If a formula works, don't change it. Yes, experiment with different ideas, but don't change the recipe too much or you'll disappoint for fanbase.
I'm sorry I am going to have to disagree with you on this one. The only problem I saw with Cascada's 2nd CD was that it had way too many covers and not enough songs as original as "Ready For Love."
I bought Tiggy's album because I heard "Ring a Ling" and thought it was cute. The CD was so inexpensive and had sch cute album art that I snagged it. So although it's crap, I ended up only paying like 4 dollars or something for it.
As far as changing your sound goes, I must be one of the few fans out there who LOVES when an artist changes their sound, even just a little. Aqua's sound change to me was a subtle one and I don't get why people love their first album and hate their second, they really aren't that different, at least not to me. I love the artist Jewel, she has went from alternative, to folk, to country, to pop and BEYOND and I love every album. I like that when she releases something, I won't really know what it will sound like. Although she changes her sound like she changes her underwear, she always keeps that Jewel flavor that makes it her own. Cascada's songs are so simple and generic that halfway through the album, songs just start to run together. *grabs CD* On Perfect Day (U.S. Release) Tracks 1-6 are great, no complaints. Track 7 (Could It be You) is a crappy ballad, no thanks. Track 8 (Because the Night) is an okay cover, but nothing amazing. Then we get Who Do You Think You Are and What Do You Want From Me and they are just disappointing. Not only do they sound so generic, but they are back to back and sound like the same song! But Runaway comes next and is HOTTTTTTT!!!!!! So overall I DO like Cascada quite a bit, but they really need to spice things up, because the end of both of their albums is disappointing. And who the hell covers "Kids in America"?! LMAO
EuropaTop50 is amazing, always ready for some spicy discussion
