Aqua- Aquarium

Was my first Bubblegum Dance Album, I remember listening to this after I had established that Dance Music was what I loved, It was different and had amazing beats that always kept me thinking if there were maybe other artist that had a similar style LOL at the time I was in fifth grade, I was very naïve LOL, But I love this album is Da Bomb, I know there was a review for the greatest hits, but Aquarium in my opinion was their biggest hit.

1. Happy Boys and Girls- This song when you hear it for the first time is very fun it captivates you with the lyrics and vocals; it is a very happy fun song to listen too.

2. My Oh My- Great song, the beat is awesome and the vocals, I love the fairytale image this song portrays it’s very sweet. I went nuts when I hear this for the first time LOL and I still do.

3. Barbie Girl- Club classic, very bouncy and girly, definitely never cared that the radio played this song non-stop every hour on the hour I enjoyed it every time, I still listen to this and I’ve had this album since ’98 its amazing.

4. Good Morning Sunshine- I Loved it immediately, why? I don’t know but I did and I still do, I think it’s the way she sings this with such emotion, I love this and any slow song Aqua throws my way. I especially love the male vocals in this their insanely good and it works together perfectly.

5. Doctor Jones- The higher the pitch the better and the sillier the more I like the song, The scats in this song are the best parts, this song can always put a smile on my face, the vocals are very good and the beat is great, its very 90’s dance floor.

6. In the heat of the night- Very tropical, almost all of the bubblegum dance albums have one or two songs with a tropical island Caribbean style. This song includes a Spanish flair that is insanely good and I love how the lyrics flow really smoothly back to back.

7. Be a man- Love Love Love this, its really good, her voice is perfect and only her voice can make this song what it is, I find myself singing to this every time this song is played. Excellent song.

8. Candyman (Lollipop) - When I heard this for the first time I was so happy I almost peed my pants LOL, I had at that time never heard a song with such an awesome bouncy beat; this is without a doubt the Bubbliest Dance Song in the World.

9. Roses are red- Another beat that almost maybe wet my pants, Aqua had some of the best concepts and beat I had ever heard and next to her everything else seemed really slow and sad. The scats on this are really good as well and the vocals.

10. Turn back time- another great slow song that only this girl can sing, the best part is where there are these echoes, I love that part, this whole song is very good and its not like we all haven’t wished we could turn back time.

11. Calling You- Very happy, I know the feeling of calling someone and getting really happy or receiving that phone call LOL, Definitely very bubbly too and a perfect finish for this great album, the only reason why I really don’t like this song is because I know after this the album is over LOL

Aqua the pioneers of Bubblegum Dance in my opinion what they did was awesome I give them a 10, the most perfect album ever, every single song was out of this world and I’m glad this was made because it encouraged the production of this type of music that has a lot of artist with great albums with really great beats like Bambee, Miss Papaya, Blue Monster, Daze, and Q-Pow!.
