Thank you for the information. Courtesy to let you know that I am taking a couple days off from the project. GOOD NEWS: I have invested in a 500GB external hardrive and have stored the project (along with some other useful items) for safe keeping. This project will be completed by end of summer.

Back with small update. Not much new, really.

I am noticing a big difference between 2009 & 2010. Though I haven't exactly been looking for new stuff since June. I suspect some great stuff has been released this summer.

There are many forums which share mp3s of new releases, mostly house & trance. However, many bubblegum tracks are mixed in here & there. Most bubblegum can be found in dance compilations shared at those sites as well.

I've not had the chance to really look for new releases, but 2010 had some good hits:
Dancing Kings "Princess & The Dragon," Oscillator X album, Three, Vengaboys and Webcam Julia. I will look for more ASAP to add to the list of songs. We're only halfway through the year so there is still time for stuff to be discovered.

www.junodownload.com has a nice Europop/dance section for both new & re-released tracks.

Thank you for responding to this thread, Irk Splee. We've not spoken in a while and I have missed you, believe it! My primary sources for information regarding the tracks I have collected throughout the years have been THIS site and Discogs. Maybe 1/3 of the rest of the tracks have had to be searched using Google. Some of it I m not really sure if it is accurate as in many cases (primarily ASIA), music is produced in one location (Italy for example) but released in another (Japan for example). I always thought Misa was Japanese but that misconception was debunked after doing further research (Discogs for one) when realizing the singer lives in Italy. I had to contact a couple of people for advice as to how exactly to qualify an artist and the overall consensus is either
1) where the producer lives and/or
2) where the singer lives

For example, I have an artist released in Sweden representing the UK because she lives in the UK--- so, there is some grey area/speculation as to the accuracy of this project.

In addition, I am BETTING that in the end, this project will only represent at most 75% of all bubblegum dance releases (up to 2010). There is still a good 700 songs STILL to be discovered or forever lost in the vast world of Bubblegum dance compilation/vinyl/etc... Let's not forget the few that have slipped through my fingers that if someone where to point it out to me, I'd be like "DUH!? How could I forget THEM?" but since there is so much going on here, It can be understanding if I miss an artist or two. Nothing personal. I will try to find a good way to create a visual representation of my findings so you can see all of the songs I've compiled and maybe if there is anything you'd like to hear, I can find a way to get it to you or show you how to find a copy to listen to.

I am almost done, but there is still enough to change the TOP 3 lineup. It will be interesting who fights for the top spot. I sitll feel it will be Germany, but it will be very interesting to see if Denmark tops Italy...

At one point midway through I thought this project was done for cuz of yeah know, but I did manage to get my stuff together and find a way to fix this computer. It still has a few "bugs," but so far so good! This past week has been clean & clear of problems!

It is a fight 'til the finish.
Germany comes through with the largest increase in this project's history as #2 Sweden does nearly the same, yet trailing by 80 tracks. #3 Italy barely holds on with 325 while Denmark makes a smooth move with +32 increase, leaving them 3 tracks short of making Top 3. I was almost certain that Denmark was going to be #3 by now. Italy may be it afterall! We still have a couple more updates to go...

United States & United Kingdom have been dancin' together for a few weeks now, trading places each update. It will be interesting who ends up in front.



2000 takes an early 'victory dance' as there is clearly NO WAY anyone else can catch them. #2 1999 and #3 2001 could very well trade places if next update's tracks land themselves just right. 2008 settles for 4th...

Obviously after this weekend, the project will continue on and be an ongoing thing as I will be continue to update it throughout. I expect 2010 stats to grow by 300%. I expect 2010 to accumulate upwards to 100 tracks by years end. I do not see it being as active as 2009 though.

I will update the "Unknown Year of Origin" list once again and hoping you guys/gals can help me out again with identifying them. Thank yoU!

I've been doing the music thing since I can remember and NEVER had I such problems as this summer, since I started this project. I've never encountered so much bad energy and freakish computer crashes. I have literally felt sharp pains in my back - like the saying "stabbing me in the back" very bad energy has been pointed my direction!

My main comp is still locked but I will try to resolve the issue so I can discover more bubblegum, esp 2010 releases which nobody seems to be able to find! I will get there, but not at all like I used to since school will be my focus this upcoming month. I will try to find music during weekend (hopefully much FASTER rate than usual since I could spend 6 straight hours looking and then the 7th hour I then find it which extends my search for another 4 or 5 hours... let's try to find the music during the first hour

Again, this is not EVERYTHING, I still have a few albums and random tracks to add. I estimate another 300 songs to go... I still need the album by Romanian's Genius. I only have like 5 songs from them and they are all amazing. Do they have multiple albums? I thought I sampled through one and it wasn't all that good, but then I came across another track that wasn't on that albuma and it was amazing!

I am currently on a small vacation from school. I have found some extra time to work on my Bubblegum Dance Collection. It does not stop growing! I discovered a couple of artists that I've missed before, and have added a couple that I have recently discovered.

I have added 100+ songs since 10 days ago. Who knows how far this will go. We have surpassed 3,000 mark.



Denmark moves back to #3 and United Kingdom moves up a spot to #7.

Hello! This will be my last update for a long time. I need some time away from Bubblegum Dance to catch up on job search and other stuff. It was been a blast going through this collection. I am still not done sorting, however, as there are some more compilations and artists I need to sort through.





Germany is clearly the country with the most BGD production. The year 2000 is the year!

Splash is Norwegian, and were on Tribe Records together with Spin-Up and Spritney Bears among others.
