Søren Rasted
Søren Rasted, who recently returned home to Denmark after a three month stay in Los Angeles with his wife Lene, will soon be able to add TV-host to his CV. In May Søren traveled to Finland to report on the Eurovision song contest, together with his good friend, TV-host Adam Duvå Hall. Søren accepted the offer to be the Danish host together with Adam, entertained the Danish public with various Eurovision news.
I think it was great fun and entertaining... I think I got really into it, said Søren.
Rene Dif
Dif is in trouble with money to the tune of 6.2 million kroner. The Aqua-singer has lost a fortune on the restaurant 'Oil' when the business collapsed. But he declines that he was to blame.
The former Aqua-singer Rene Dif's fairytale with the restaurant and nightclub 'Oil' on the Esplanade in Copenhagen has ended in bankruptcy.
The company behind Oil aimed to launch it as a new meeting point for the smart jet-set of Copenhagen. The Oil Association A/S changed its' name to the more anonymous PVU on 26th Jan. And then it collapsed.
According to Thomas Fredslund-Andersen from Sø- og Handelsretten debt collection, who points out as curator, that the company registered a debt of 6.2 million kroner. "But there could be more", he says to Ekstra Bladet.
Everything went wrong
René Dif denies responsibility for the disaster. He explained that he resigned from the day-to-day running of the company back in the autumn.
"Apart from that I have no comment", he says.
It's a fact, however, that at the time of the bankruptcy he still owned a third of 'Oil', which he opened in May, together with Bardenfleth-Hansen, formerly of Vinbaren, and chef Rida Berri.
"What went wrong?"
"Everything", says Rida Berri. "We had problems with the neighbours who thought we made too much noise. We had problems with rats, the environment and with the staff. It has been a complete fiasco.
"How much has it cost you?"
"A lot, says Rida Berri, but refuses to name the figure."
Curator-lawyer Thomas Fredslund-Andersen is also cautious about setting a figure on René Dif and the two others' personal loss.
"I can't say anything about that, but it's obvious that money is tight", he says, and says that it was Oil themselves that registered the bankruptcy.
"Not tax collectors or other creditors?"
The place has been sold
"No, it was they themselves. They could see the business wasn't going anywhere." says the lawyer.
There is some good news, however. The bar has been sold, so a little money put back in their bank accounts. The buyer is chain-restaurant owner Torben Olsen along with the two chefs Jens Gudmundsson and Anders Houmann, who in the meantime are in charge of restaurants "M/S Amerika" and "Kanalen" in Copenhagen.
They are hoping to turn Oil in to some kind of cabaret restaurant.
