A lot of Bubblegum dance songs are actually remakes, from the 70s 80s and 90s. It's interesting to point out them, and, where you can, supply the original song.
Please don't include songs from Christmas Albums, or cover artists (such as Shanadoo).
Here's a few I know of:
Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep
This was covered by both Cartoons and Dominoo. I like Dominoo's version much more.
Making Your Mind Up - Small Talk
This is a remake of a popular song by the 80s group "Bucks Fizz." I prefer Small Talk's version better, probably due to the better vocals and overall better producing and instrument choice.
bucks fizz - making your mind up.mp3 - 3.97MB
Land Of Make Believe - All Stars
This is a remake of Bucks Fizz's other hit song, "The Land Of Make Believe." Bucks Fizz's version is pretty similar to this, but less electronic sounding.
Boys Boys Boys
This song, which was originally performed by Sabrina has been covered by a lot of artists. These include Betty on her album "Come To Me", and Fem@le.
Break My Stride - Blue Lagoon
Not really bubblegum, well at all, but I thought I'd mention that this was originally performed by an 80s artists called Mathew Wilder. He sounds a bit like Michael Jackson, but I like Blue Lagoon's version more.
Witch Doctor - Cartoons
This was also a remake, I think by a 70s or 80s group who was also responsible for a song called "Love Potion Number 9", or something similar. I prefer Cartoons' version more.
Never Ending Story - Creamy
This was definitely a remake, but I'm not 100% sure who did the original. Maybe you'll be able to help?
Mah Na Mah Na - Die Lollipops
This was the Snowth's song on The Muppet's Show. I'm sure you'll rember it!! Here's a video on YouTube:
Moviestar - Evelyn
This was originally written and performed by a 70s artist.
Words - Zoom
This was originally by F. R. David in 1982.
Under The Kilt (Dr. Macdoo)/ Run Run Away (Dominoo)
These use a common tune from Scotland, but I'm not sure which. Does anyone know?
Lollipop
Lollipop is a popular song written by Beverly Ross and Julius Dixon in 1958. It was also covered by The Chordettes. Later it was covered by Fem@le and Holly Dolly.
Heartbreaker - Graaf
This is a cover of the popular song written by the Bee Gees and performed by numerous people. Blue Lagoon also did a more upbeat version of this song.
Can't Help Falling In Love - A*Teens
Numerous artists have covered this song but this is probably the most well-known. This was originally performed by Elvis Presley in the 50s.
Kissin' In The Back Row Of The Movies - Junia
This is a well-known song from 1974, by The Drifters.
Mickey - Lolly
This song has also been covered heaps of times, and (I think) was originally performed in 1982 by female singer/choreographer Toni Basil.
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun - Lolly
A very well-known 80s song originally performed by Cyndi Lauper.
Stand By You - S.O.A.P.
Originally by S Club 7. I like S Club 7's version way more lol
The Bumpisong/Gummibears - Spritney Bears
This is a remake of the theme song from the Disney animated serious "Gummibears."
Hooked On A Feeling - Tiggy
Originally written by Mark James in 1969, and performed by B. J. Thomas.
