I wrote this for my writing class. It was supposed to be a setting. It kind of turned out to be a personification of the wind.
Everything was silent. The forest slept underneath the moon's watchful eye. Bathed in it's warm glow, the forest sat still. Everyone was peacefully asleep but for the wind. It took this chance to play. It blew through the tops of the trees and the branches moved as if they were trying to free themselves of the wind's presence. It rushed through the bushes and they shivered in the cold. It ran along the ground and the grass jumped up out of the way. It skipped along the creek and made ripples along the surface. It spinned in cyclonic circles in the leaves and pulled them up into a mini tornado a few feet above the ground before moving on and dropping them onto the ground again. It made one last glance at the forest and examined it. The birch, oak and evergreen trees stood in uneven rows. The centurion trees towered over everything, giving a sence of protection. Their branches stretching out into the sky to reach for the sun. They had stood in the forest for hundreds of years and had seen the birth and death of many creatures. Their bark was scarred with the scratching of animals. Many of them had roots sticking out from the ground due to erosion of the earth, or animals digging, or just not having anywhere else to grow. Many of the young trees fighting to survive had grown sideways to try to find some sunlight. They grew closer to the old and wise trees to learn which ways to grow to attain the much needed sunlight. Shrubs and bushes grew in the places where the trees had not already claimed. They would never grow as high as the trees and were happy to have the company of the rabbits and squirrels who took shelter underneath them. There was a small creek that ran a crooked and wobbly line through the forest. It happily gurgled along, bumping over the rocks and broken branches on it's bed. Occasionally in the deeper parts there were small fish. It would eventually run into a river on it's way to the sea.
Hmm.. do I need to separate into a few paragraphs??
Yea, there are a few errors I know, but ah well. XD
