Dolly - Dolly (EP)
Dolly is a debut EP from the Romanian bubblegum dance Dolly girl group. It contains six beautiful tracks, including two remixes of the songs Nu Mi-e Frica and In Week-End. In fact, this EP was very well shaped and produced, and contains great tracks that fit perfectly with the sweet vocals of the four young vocalists, who together form a single angelic voice. The songs are totally sung in their native language, which makes this release more special.
1. "In Week-End" - To start the EP with a golden key, Dolly's most famous song "In Week-End" is chosen for introduction, which despite the title gives a certain appearance that the song will be sung in English language, this is not really what happens, because this song, like the others, is sung in the native language of the group, in the Romanian language. This song is impeccable and very well done, and the vocalists' vocals are excellent and very well tuned. Although In Week-End is Dolly's main hit, she is not very impactful in terms of melody. But it is a great song and it was a good choice to leave that song for the beginning.
2. "Nu Mi-e Frica" - In fact, it is the most incredible, fascinating and extraordinary song that this ep could have. It is one of Dolly's songs where vocalists are often tested throughout the song, with regard to their vocal techniques. Surprisingly, they easily dominate this song, showing that despite being underage (at that time), their timbres and vocal techniques were already greater than them and that, generally, not even an adult trained in singing would have this voice power like these girls had. When the song starts with a sweet vocal accompanied by a squeaky piano, you already think it will be a wonderful song, and you are really right. The song gets better and better as it evolves, but it gets even better when the wonderful chorus arrives. If you listen to this song, it probably won't get out of your head as it is so contagious. A song "note 11!". Flawless.
3. "Dintr-o Mie" - I loved this song, I even consider it one of Dolly's most 'relaxing' songs. However, it is not very memorable and it is also not very impactful. More is a good choice!
4. "Cu Capul In Nori" - Without a doubt, it is an energetic, melodic, spectacular song that was written and integrated with a lot of love, and sung with a lot of emotion, because that is what this song passes on to us listeners . In the beginning, the vocalists' vocals already make a good impression, more when a sound of a harmonic violin is played, that the music takes off once and for all. This song also opens up our imagination, making us think of medieval times, such as Castle, Princesses, Dragon, Princes etc. This song really has a very catchy sound. My favorite track!
The last two tracks are a remix of the songs "Nu Mi-e Frica" and "In Week-End", and that really has no difference from the original songs.
Overall, this EP is very incredible and extraordinary. And it is through him that Dolly makes his sound his trademark. Honestly, I didn't see any negative points for this EP, so my grade is "10/10".
