Review: Aqua announced in late 2007 that they would be reuniting and that a new Greatest Hits release will happen very soon... almost TWO YEARS later it happens. And for something that has been so long in production, I have to say I'm disappointed. The album lacks the singles "Good Morning Sunshine" and "Bumble Bees" for some reason, but what will annoy fans the most is that it doesn't include the infamous unreleased songs - in particular "Shakin Stevens" - that the group played numerous times during their Danish concerts in 2008. WHY did you not include these Aqua, WHY? I think the new songs are pretty good; "Back To The 80's" is very strong, "My Mamma Said" a very powerful/dramatic song that I for one was not expecting from Aqua, but I really love this song. Lene's voice is amazing; "Live Fast Die Young" - this song is also pretty good, I think It'll grow on me the more I listen to it. The re-working of the old tracks is OK, though they didn't change them much... just the beats are a bit different, they have a bit more grunt, but they sound pretty similar to the originals. I like the new versions of "Cartoon Heroes" and "Roses Are Red" in particular.

I think Aqua would have been better off to release a new album with all of their unreleased music, as well as a selection of new songs. It would have been MUCH better, but this wasn't bad, and I'm very happy that it was released. It will be interesting to see what Aqua does next though... hopefully they haven't completely dismissed the idea of releasing a new album. With a bit of luck their new songs will get a lot of airplay and attention in Denmark/Scandinavia, and they'll be convinced to release more.

Today i dowloaded this album i lestening but i expected much more from aqua in the 90's it was a powerful band with great songs but now she realesed 3 songs witch i like just one(back to the 80s) and te ather song are old i already have 2 best of with aqua.I don't know abot you guys but for me i believe this album it's not so powerful what i expected.the are many band of the 90s the are come back with great album such as smile dk,loona etc.I'm still fun of aqua but i want to hear new songs from this artist mutch better likew the songs of the 90s

I just hope they release more stuff including there unreleased tracks, you right on that, it would succeed more, but hey ^.^ who knows, this is a Greatist hits album after all, maybe AQUA has more in store for there fans >.> I just hope they stick to the techno/eurodance sounds, maybe it doesnt have to sound like there older bubblegum, but maybe a heavy Eurodance sound will be fine with me

I know you can't expect like the sound of music today to be like in the 90s you can't bring back the 90s in today music but you can keep just a little bit ofg the rhythm and sound of the older 90s.What can i say i'm fun of the 90s exactly eurodance bubblegum and little bit of tehnosuch as scooter,marush and blumchen.I still believe there many people of today are wondering where is gonne the good music!!!!

Mitch, darling, these songs have not been reworked. I could tell just by listening to them, but to be sure, I pulled out my rips of Aqua's tracks from their albums, they are the same, not even so much as a blip is different. In the beginning they claimed they were going to release reworked old songs, so maybe you're tricking yourself into thinking you hear something different, but they are indeed the exact same songs. If I downloaded the same .zip you did (and I'm sure I did), there is nothing but 3 new tracks and 16 old, untouched ones.

Maybe you're right... I might just have a low quality rip of their original albums on my comp. How awkward.

The album that you looking The Fireman-To the rescue it"s very good album of 2000 i know some songs lige the fireman song,flames of love(cover of old song of the 80's),and holiday song with some years ago i have this song mai exactly this album now i don't have it but believe me is a good album in the style of bubblegum dance.And myself i'm trying to find this album or my exactly this 3 song i like very much but till now i never find nothing.I work with russian,polonia,ungary & romanian site for sharing music and nobody find this album.

Thanks, yes we've decided that "To The Rescue!" is probably the rarest bubblegum dance album ever (if you exclude the unreleased ones; Blue Monster's for example we wouldn't have acquired if it wasn't uploaded by Blue Monster themselves). It's good to know the other Fireman songs are good, I hope we will find it one day.
