This past weekend, one of my worst nightmares occured. My Creative Zen (2004) crapped out and so I had to get a new one.
So I went to the local Wal-Mart, because their was no way I was driving back home without an MP3 player and chose the newest brand the Zune because for one I knew it was new and also was only $114 for 8GB!
Well little did I know this thing is like Microsoft Vista was when it first came out, a total headache as far as its software.
However, since I am pretty computer savvy I have found my away around it 'kinks' and really have to say it's looking like a nice player all-around! I do not reccommend if you are at all computer novice or one of those people (whom I actually have a living disgust for) who know how to log on the internet, surf, check email and download stuff and thats about it. This MP3 player does take a while to get used to and some work to set up a 'routine' for all of us music lovers out there who always have a new 'flow' of music constantly coming in and dont understand the Microsoft ZUNE in-famous 'Sync' system and how it deletes the files that you no longer have on the computer (because they are now stored on SanDisks) and I have found my way around this.
What the ZUNE brings as a great current generation Player:
1. Great Display! OMG once you get all the album art, it shines!
2. The software is pretty good at getting alot BGD album meta-info, I was suprised, artists like Blue Monster and A-Moe were ready to go with ART!
3. Great Battery Life, as long as you keep it at like 15-30 seconds backlight, this baby goes forever!
4. Easy to install software right off their website, so no worrying about losing a disc. Just log onto zune.net/setup....done.
5. Nice Menu, easy to use, all your artist can easily be scrolled through and if some info isnt to your liking, just plus back in copy the files back to the computer change info and it automatically syncs changes with the player.
6. You can share music wirelessly with other ZUNE users, but as a trial (they come DRM protected) but at least you now know about them and can go download yourself.
7. You can Guest mode onto a friends computers and get songs.
8. Its more compatible with PC users, compared to iPods.
9. It can link your collection up to your Xbox 360.
10. Oh yeah it holds video and pictures.
Yeah let me know if you have one, have thought about getting one, or any horror stories you've had. Or if you need help with one I am now a user myself.
