OK, so it seems we've played out the Countdown thread for now at least on Smile.DK so I wanted to try to start a new one; this time its only 5 because they are far less songs to choose from for Crispy as compared to Smile.DK

My Crispy Top 5

Honorable Mentions: Calendar Girl, In & Out, and The Game

5. Licky Licky -- The first song I ever heard by them, love the video, to me what makes this song is the "Would you like some coconuts?" verses as 'conversational' lyrics between group members in song always gets me.

4. Secret -- This song is very catchy, very fun, and upbeat. Love the chorus which reflects what I just stated. "You can tickle till I die" always gets me. The way Mette emphasizes certain lyrics or plays with them in the way she sings is key element to this group and this is evident in the way she says "I'm teasing you" for example, LOVE THAT!

3. Bubble Dancer -- Oh my when that "da-bubbles!" starts chiming in -- its on! The o-e-oh-e-oh-e-a's are so spectacular, this song also makes you feel like you are in a dance club at times, one where they lets the soap bubbles come down from the ceiling, oh my anyone got an idea now?

2. Kiss Me Red -- the the lyrics scream BGD to me. I'd probably put this song in to show someone what BGD is all about as one example. Love the melody of the chorus, how it goes from "Kiss me red" kinda slwoly and jumps right to "kiss me red and dont forget. kiss me red all over, be my lover" like much faster thats awesome.

1. Happy King -- yeah actually heard this before I even joined the forum on youtube from M!tch's video. When I bought the album, I didnt have this bonus track, but now that I have it the song, it has quickly sky-rocketed to number 1 in my book as far as Crispy songs go. It's got to be 'duet' vocals and the way they are done for me, man I love that kind of thing so much in BGD

6- Kiss Me Red

5- Happy King: I immediately loved this song when I first heard it. The initial love has worn away a little but I still like it a lot. Mettes voice sounds great in the chorus (I like her vocal mute in oo-oh-ooo-oh-o).

4- Licky Licky: I like the Coconut line and conversation also. I like the hidden sexual innuendos, they're funny. Piano is cool. This was my fave for a good while.

3- Calendar Girl: I like the synthy tune at the beginning. Great Harmonies. A song about every boys fantasy *rolls eyes*

2- The Game: Dialogue is cute, Mette sounds so tough. The Lyrics are awesome, I can Imagine a great music video to this song! I like how the guy is the Narrator and Mette is the video game character. Chorus harmonies are nice.

1- Secret: I like how playful this song is, including the lyrics. The Toy Trumpet sound is cute

Chorus is awesome (I like the rock out piano). This whole song is so corny, but I like it.

I never noticed before, but Crispy has REALLY good quality lyrics. They have interesting topics. They aren't just about love like most music out there.

Very hard to choose positions for these songs, because I love them all so much and would absolutely scream if anything "Crispy" played at a club. But here's what I've boiled it down to:

7. DJ SANTA
6. HAPPY KING

5. SECRET (I love the beginning of this song, the way it builds up into a dance tune. The chorus is tooth-rottingly catchy, and I love the lyrics as well.)

4. THE GAME (I still want to make a music video for this song, it screams awesomeness. And the story telling is awesome, I love the synths, the vocals, and when the song pumps up to become dancey!)

3. BANANA BAY (love the synth intro, this song is just too silly, it's pure euro cheese! "Banana Bay" is so high on my list because it has obvious sexual undertones which crack me up, I mean she wants to go to "Banana Bay" haha, come on! The lyrics are very random and the rhythm very animated. The ending is also really good - something a lot of songs seem to miss (I can't stand fade outs, they lack all originality))

2. LICKY LICKY (MAIN MIX) (Who can deny their love for this song? I mean, a song about 'licking exotic "fruit"', could you get anymore random? I love the naughtiness of this song too, and me and my friend think we'll just have to perform it in drag oneday lmao - it's just too perfect not to. I like the "Main Mix" of this song the most, as it is longer, and the beginning is more drawn out. "Licky Licky" has to one of the most catchy songs ever written.)

1. KISS ME RED (MAIN MIX) (My number one favourite song by Crispy, "Kiss Me Red" warms my heart as it is just so damn bubblegummy! When I first heard it I was in bubblegum heaven. The lyrics are one of my favourite things in this song, along with the little "synth splashes" they have put throught the song for detail, the sound effects, and the build up in beats that suggest there is going to be a bang or something. There is also perfect transition from bridges and chorus, and Mette's vocals sound amazing in this song. The Main Mix is better in my opinion because the production is stronger, and I love how at the beginning, the song jumps straight into the chorus with beats. It's incredibly delicious

I just LOVE reading your guy's explanations more than anything I can see these 'countdowns' are going to very interesting, fun and informational for everyone to read just what each listener thinks ever so 'intimately' about all these BGD songs when they listen to them, it kinda puts you into their 'world' of what they are listening for whenever they hear music they like, I'm so glad I started these threads!

Cesar's "Top 5" Crispy Tracks:

05. Licky Licky - As with many others, this was my first excursion into the world of Crispy. This song is incredibly cheeky and SO infectious. The first time I heard this, I listened to it non-stop for over a month before snagging the whole album.

04. Kiss Me Red (Extended Version) - This track is VERSION SPECIFIC. No other version of this song could fill this spot. the extended version of this track takes an already ADORABLE song and puts in some of the most fun, happy production ever. I LOVE the music that the song starts out with and I love that they use it throughout the whole track. I also love this song because the lyrics are so great. Can't we all relate?

03. Mr. Dinosaur (Album Version) - Again, another track that is version specific. The radio edit kinda sucks. This song is food for my imagination and I have envisioned a million different music videos for this song in my head. I absolutely LOVE the execution of lyrics for both Mette and Christian. "It's the dinosaur, the guy you can't ignore!" This song is just perfection, an absolute favorite of mine.

02. I Like... (Radio Hit Mix) - Many people didn't favor Crispy's transition to a more trance-like sound. I on the other hand LOVED it! This song is SO hot! The lyrics are dirty and Mette sings them with just the right amount of sugar and spice. She even takes a hint from E-Rotic and gets a little "moany", which I love

01. Calendar Girl - This song is so awesome and original! It's a song about a calendar model who is doing something different in each monthly picture and how the man who has the calendar is totally admiring each and every shot. This song is just like "Mr. Dinosaur" because it is food for my imagination. I really wish I had the ability, technology and knowledge to make the music video that my brain has stored for this song. I LOVE this song. That is all.

There were SO many other songs that deserve honorable mention such as "Happy King", "DJ Santa (Club Mix)", "Always on My Mind (Alternate Version)", "In & Out" and of course others, but since you MADE me pick 5, lol, these would be the ones.

5. The Game - YAY finally a song with a good synth solo without sacrificing a catchy chorus and verses ^^

4. Love Is Waiting - really different from the majority of Crispy's other stuff, but I still find this song extremely fun to sing along to. overall a calm & pretty song.

3. Licky Licky - genius. the song subject and lyrics are fun + the back and forth singing between mette and the guy is WIN.

2. Happy King - lyrics are cute as hell, this has to be one of the best bonus tracks i've ever heard on an album. the male part really cracks me up "me still get no kiss".

1. Bubble Dancer - SUCH a fun song. This is what really got me interested in Crispy in the first place. Not to mention, what's a good bubblegum song without some sexual innuendos? xD

Well I like all their songs but i do have a top 5

5. Licky Licky- Everyone i have played this for has loved it, it is really cool and fun. Definitely their most favored song by all its a bubblegum classic.

4. Dj Santa- Great song, i would say Christmas song but i play it all year round, Love the concept and the male vocals, the beat is also great, this group was definitely good with everything they did.

3. Sex- Got the track from the H.H. and fell for it its amazing, love the sound and the lyrics, it is such a great song.

2. Secret- Another amazing song that i instantly fell for, I had never heard a song like this before, it has a great breat, great lyrics, and the progression is perfect.

1. Bubble Dancer- When i bought the Album, i instantly fell in love with this song i must have heard it 20 times in a row. Love the beat is amazing, this is a fun song and i still play it, im down to once a day LOL

I knew I missed one of these ranking threads.

(Remember the number is the mix CD of mine the song is on).

5. In & Out (27) - This song makes me blush, but I like it. I remember I discovered it a while ago, not knowing it was by Crispy.

4. Happy King (17) - This song is so weird...lol...I love the tune in this song, especially the "synthesizer solo". Even my sister like this song and she's not a BGD fan.

3. Licky Licky (17) - This is the first Crispy song I heard and what got me interested in the band. Not to mention it's their most popular song and the only one with a music video. I've always liked it, especially the weird lyrics. It's a song about exotic fruit! (The part when it changes to minor and she says "exotic fruit for sale" towards the end was always my favorite part. Not to mention the whole vocables part: "licky-licky-yah-ah-ah-looky-looky-yo-ooh-whoa-ooh-whoa-ooh-whoa". That's one of my favorite vocables parts in a BGD song.

2. Bubble Dancer (17) - I remember seeing this one had "won" overall and I suppose that makes perfect sense. It's very good and it's a bit different than their other songs. It has a unique sound and I can't really compare it to any other song I know. Though I think the lyrics are dirtier than they appear...

My friend likes this song. He said it was the best BGD song he had heard (he's only heard like 10 or so, but still, that was pretty cool for him to say that).

1. Mr. Dinosaur (27) - This song is underrated. It's my favorite of theirs. I just love it. I remember I found it pretty late. (Actually, it is the newest song of theirs I've gotten). I love the tune, I love the weird lyrics, I love that synthesizer bit when it sounds like a sci-fi movie, I love the harmony at the end, it's just a great song. I can't believe only one other person included Mr. Dinosaur on their list!

#1, #2, and #3 are pretty close, though. I had them switched around originally. I can't make up my mind.

Nice list Rodybrody!, the synth in "Happy King" is definitely part of why it's my #1. Yes "In & Out" can make anyone listening to it blush, I actually am someone who doesn't really like the song "Mr. Dinosaur" and yes I've been grilled a few times already for mentioning this
