Heres what it is....similar to TRL's Top 10 Countdown, we are going create our own Top 10 Countdown of your favorite Smile.dk tracks in order from 10 to 1.

It's a countdown - so start with #10 and move to #1 (your favorite) in your list

Each song SHOULD have some kind of small explanantion or thing you like about that song.

Should have heard most/all of everything Smile.dk has to offer, in order to have a better feel for being able rank them.

Put some thought into it, I suggest writing it down on a piece of paper or a word document first.

1) I like making lists of things, I'm analytical.
2) Im interested to see your answers.
3) Provides good discussion about the artist.
4) Can see why we like the songs we do, to help better guess what other artists person may like.
5) It's fun!

It's good outlet for archiving everyone's favorite songs in here.

I will do another for another BGD artist in the near future.

Hazey's Smile.DK Top 10 Countdown

10) Someday - All I need to hear is "I wish upon a star" the way she says 'star' and I'm good to go.

9) Boys - Even though the lyrical content isn't something I'm necessarily singing along to for my own enjoyment, its such a fun song.

8) Golden Sky - just has that classic Smile.DK feel written all over it.

7) Temptation Islands - another underrated. the "dig dig" parts are killer.

6) Middle of the Night - kind of underrated fav of mine from their first album, like the sound is kind of mid-90s Euro House and how the chorus vocals 'speed up' the way they do.

5) Butterfly - the first song that really got me into this genre along with "Sailor Song" by Toy-Box, so it will always hold a special spot in my <3

4) Koko Soko - best song off the newest album...by far. It's the beat and the little "clap-clap or slap-slap" part in that beat.

3) Dancing All Alone - the whole "oh-oh-e-oh-e-oh-e-oh-e-oh-e-oh" thing does it for me <3

2) Dragonfly - I love the lyrics in this song, especially the part thats starts with "You tell me things that I never knew" , and love the trasitional beat after-chorus.

1) Kissy Kissy - Because the chorus is so catchy, probably the catchiest they ever made in my opinion. The opening beat grabs you in right off and has excellent pace in the song throughout which is key for me.

Here is a rough idea though:

10. I can't decide between a)Hummingbird- What's not to like? cute lyrics and the melody is amazing

and b) Koko Soko - immedately went crazy over this when I heard the less than 20 second clip posted on smile.dk's official site. lovelove the lyrics and the *clap clap*.

9. A Geisha's Dream - Smile.dk's newest song & collab with Naoki. I find it fits their image perfectly and reminds me of their old stuff <3

8. Golden Sky - This was what realllly got me hooked on smile.dk. In fact, this song is actually why i'm here today! It got me curious into smile.dk and other similar artists, it's classic smile.dk amazingness. My favorite part is the grunt before the synth solo - It really makes the song neat IMO ^^

7. It's In Your Melody - YAY. Smile.dk is back and as booming as ever

this is probably my favorite track from the album!

6. Kissy Kissy - Lyrics are absolutely ADORABLE. I love the crap out of this song.

5. I'll Be There - I actually learned some of this on the piano because I love the synth solo sooo much! That's really the only reason this song is so high on my countdown. Makes for an amazing rington

4. Do You? - at first I thought this song sounded like an outdated dance classic, but it grew on me really quickly and soon became one of my favorites ^^

3. Ding Ding Dong - I remember reading Mitch's review for this album on amazon (even though at the time I didn't know who mitch was

) and seeing him mention that the lyrics were strange - which is kind of true. But the half step up at the end is a killer, so catchy

2. Come Chameleon - I found the lyrics of this track really clever. "Come Chameleon, show me your colours" - very cute. And as usual, amazingly catchy.

1. Doo-Be-Di-Boy - I can't even put it in words - it's just...perfection <3 "Everytime you call my name you move me like a hurricane"

10- Tomoe: I like how it starts off, a good start is a huge selling point for me. Latin beat. Chorus has nice harmony. I like the part about a castle.

9- Hummingbird: Starts off nicely... then the beat, o beautiful! I really like the chorus (it's the harmony). "come sing my song".

8- Butterfly: Classic, I used to think this was Aqua. But that was a looong time ago. Fun Chorus.

7- Japanese Boy: The "Was it something I've said or done, that made him pack his bags up and run, could it be another..." Wow that harmony is bliss.

6- Domo Domo Domo: This song is underrated. I like Smiles Latin beat songs. It's also the second Smile.dk song I ever heard (on Stepmania). "Kyomo Kyomo Tanoshi" I like that.

5- Do Be Di Boy: Nice opening harmony. Chorus is the redeeming quality of this song and the beat afterward.

4- It's in your Melody: Yet again the harmony! Background music is so full. la-di-da-di-da is great! Nice Lyrics too.

3- Kissy Kissy: The harmonized "na na na's" are killer, makes the song for me. If the rest of the song was as great as the "na na na's it would be #1.

2-Koko Soko: I dunno this song just starts off on such a great note! Just hit it off. Great beat! La-di-da-di-da... I don't know what it means though.

1-Dancing all Alone: I like the echoy effect that's there for the whole song. Chorus has a great Harmony and catchy beat. Consistently good all the way through!

That took a long time erg. Great songs though!
I notice I picked a lot of songs from "Party around the World", I guess I like the new sound. Plus it's the only one I have the whole CD for

Yeah I its first CD I bought too (because its only like $12 on amazon) the only other one I've been able to track down is 'Smile' at $35.

"Domo Domo Domo" is rather underrated I agree thats a strong one.

For "Japanese Boy" I only dont put this song up there, because I liked the original song from the 80s (yes its an 80s pop song) and the only cover I like the best (this song has been covered alot) is the cover by Shanadoo, a J-pop group you probably know very well and if you dont know their cover of "japanese Boy" yet check it out

This is the one thing I REALLY wish Shanadoo had incorporated into the original, the harmony that is. I think SMiLE.dk ROCKS the harmony out of Japanese Boy and thus the Shanadoo and SMiLE.dk "Japanese Boy" tracks are equal in my opinion ^_^

10) Heal My Broken Heart - When the producers said that SMiLE.dk would be doing a remake of an old "underrated" song, I hoped and prayed that this song was that remake, and luckily, it was! I love the spirit of this song, the blending of soft pleas and strong insistence. It's a great composition and their remix makes it even better!

9) Butterfly - A classic song, originally I thought it was by Naoki

Well, I soon found out my mistake and fell in love with SMiLE.dk! If it wasn't for this song, I wouldn't have eventually fallen for bubblegum...

8) Summer Party - I like the opening to this song and the fun feel of it, it'll definitely be playing in my car this summer, but it's not the ultimate SMiLE.dk song, thus its lower placement

7) Future Girls - A few of my friends who know of SMiLE.dk don't even know this song exists... poor them. I love the futuristic feel behind this song, yet the ability of SMiLE.dk to maintain their signature style behind it.

6) A Geisha's Dream - I ADORE this song, it's so upbeat and lovely! Very classic SMiLE material, yet unique and not some rehashed song... The chorus is particularly fun to sing along to as well...

5) Domo Domo Domo - Exactly what Jessi said

I also love the way this song begins, really draws me in.

4) Kissy Kissy - The bouncy feel of this song makes it a fun one to listen to, the lyrics are silly, but yet when you think about them, there's some quality meaning behind it. The Asian instruments are also very strong in this song, which make me love it all the more!

3) Koko Soko - The *clap clap* is so perfectly timed it's not funny! I always clap along with this song... Overall it was a splendidly crafted piece.

2) Dancing All Alone - "Dancing All Ah-loh-own" captivates me every time. The girls' voices are perfect for this song and it really embodies a period of life I briefly had to go through. The personal meaning and beautiful music behind this song really make it close to the top for me.

1) Doki Doki - When I first heard this song on their website almost a year ago, I shrieked and did a little dance. I would play this song over and over on their myspace page. Its melody, its beat, its musical score, it's a masterpiece and thus it takes spot number one in my list ^_^

But there were a few singles I really like that often get neglected that you mentioned. -high fives-

UP, come on everyone I want to see everyone's list...

M!tch do you think once I get everyone's list I can compile the lists together and using those ranks compile an all-time Top 10 and you could add it to Smile.DK's page on Bubblegumdancer.com listed as something like "Top 10 favorites from the listeners" or "Listener's choice Top 10" and maybe we can do the same thing for more popular groups? It might help people know where to go or give them some 'popular' songs to start with when searching the site, people who may be new to the genre or just that particular group.

If you dont post your Top 10 in here, I may just have to PM you for it, I know who you are...hehe, just fair warning!

Hey hey! I forgot about this! Now I can finally do it. Good thing it got bumped a few times to remind me.

Going thru my mp3 player, I jotted down the Smile.dk songs that really stick out to me. Somehow, I came up with exactly 10. Then, I shuffled them around as I saw fit. Some of the explanations may seem redundant, but I like DDR et al, and I like upbeat and fun music

10) Domo Domo Domo - Err, I like the way it sounds? It has that smile.dk sound we all know and love

9) Butterfly - It's THE song that everyone knows, and it was my first smile song, too. So of course it's going to wind up on the list. When I moved stuff around, it wound up here

8) Summer Party/Xmas Party - It's two songs in one! I thought summer party was great, but the xmas song made me like it even more. Now whenever I hear one, I think of the other. Party song! Also, use of the word "naughty" was a factor.

7) Koko Soko - Great song that reminds me of Butterfly, but it surpassed it for being more up-tempo

6) Doki Doki - This song reminded me how great smile.dk is. Upbeat and fun!

5) Mr. Wonderful - It's a song about me! *pauses for laughter* But srsly, I loved playing this on DDR.

4) Doo-Be-Di Boy - I heard this song when I grabbed the simfile off some random 'I don't even remember what'. Not quite sure what a Doo-Be-Di boy is, but I can't get this song out of my head. It also uses the word samurai, which is a bonus. Upbeat and fun!

3) Coconut - Again, DDR! This is probably the 2nd smile.dk song I heard. After hearing the first two lines, I couldn't not hear the rest. This song is so cheesy and great! I could use some tropical weather right about now. They took the lowly coconut and turned it into... a great song!

2) Dancing All Alone - I feel like I may be sounding like a broken record here, but again, DDR at the arcade

Singles, Doubles. Plus, I usually end up dancing all alone whenever I go to the arcade D:

1) Boys - When i thought about it, this is clearly the winner. Great song that I've played on DDR. Moreover, it is lots of fun (and even more fun) to play on dance maniax (I want to play it right now!). Also, the lyrics are kinda naughty? This song always makes me smile

See! There it goes again!!

Before you call shenanigans, I know that Petit Love and Golden Sky were in DDR. They are great songs but didn't make the cut.

I agree with Cascada about this being torture to make! >_< I absolutely love so many of their songs, and feel like I’m doing an injustice by not listing them all. But, I thought it over REALLY hard and here is my list… for now.

Butterfly – My first introduction to SMiLE was this song! I absolutely love it, and will never forget my first time hearing it. It may not be my favorite, but because it is thought of as "THE" SMiLE.dk song I feel I have to list it!

Domo Domo Domo – I particularly love the songs that the girls write themselves. With this song, I really love that they took the time to thank their fans! This song reflects how truly sweet and appreciative they are of their fans. *sniff*

Someday – I love this song because it’s about how you feel when you’ve just fallen in love. It’s just so innocent and pure. “When you come home, I wave hello, I fell my heartbeat coming back slow”

Do You? – This song has so much emotion! There are some lines that just make this song for me. “Common baby, just let it go. Is this mutual attraction waiting for some action?” “Stop kidding me! Stop fooling me! Stop using me! What’s it gonna be?” Most of us have been there… you want the other person to just show some affection, give something, give anything, to be real with you!!! Just an overall wonderful song.

Paradise – the first time I heard this ballad, and many times after, I got tears in my eyes. When the girls sing, “Lost in emotion…” their voices are so gorgeous! I also love the French lyrics that they use in this song!

Petit Love – This song is so upbeat and full of energy! I can’t help but want to dance and sing along. No matter how bad of a day I’m having, this song can lift my spirits! Also a great song to work out to.

Dancing All Alone (Kimono version) – Much like the original version, but even cuter! I think we can all relate to this song, whether from heartbreak or just wanting to be with someone you can’t. I think the lyrics are wonderful and also like the whip sound in the background! hehe. Dancing All Alone is also probably my all-time favorite song to play on DDR.

Kissy Kissy – I am in love with this song! It has an amazing beat, wonderfully written lyrics, and an innocent feel to it. I absolutely adore the lines “See the moon and see the sun, shining down on everyone. They know how in love we are, I heard them tell it to a star!”. This song is just so much fun.

Koko Soko – What an amazing song!!! The sound is new and refreshing, and so catchy! I’ve noticed I sing this song out loud when I’m in a wonderful mood, hehe. This is probably the first song I would recommend a new listener of SMiLE.dk. Also a wonderful song to work out to!

Temptation Islands – I fell in love with this song the very first time I heard a clip of it on a video that Jamie posted while going to San Japan. This is the quintessential SMiLE.dk song, and my favorite (at the moment!). The lyrics and music reflect a fun and mysterious vibe. The girls definitely know how to reach their audience with this song and invoke feelings of having fun and being free. Also, this song holds a special place in my heart because it was playing out loud the first time I ever saw SMiLE.dk in person! <3

So, those are my picks. I've enjoyed reading everyone elses favorites, and especially their reasons behind it.

6. Japanese Boy: Now, this was a great cover of Japanese boy! Which before this song... I didn't was real!

So yeah... I thought is was very well done! Better than a lot!

5. Domo Domo Domo: Now this song... I fight with it A LOT! I dis like it then I like it then I dis like it then I like it! It just goes on and on! But, I do over all like it! It's got the groove in it! Also knowing a little about it helped with liking it more too!

4. Hummingbird: Now really! I thought Hummingbird was the best song on the new album! Personally I do LOVE the lyrics and the vocals! The whole thing is really lovely to hear! It's catchy and it's a fun song to show people too!

3. Dancing All Alone: A song I really didn't was in my top three! I really didn't see this! But, I thought about it for a while and thought YES IT IS THAT GOOD! So here it is! I first got hooked on the normal version. Then I switched to the other version, which... Is a bad idea when you want to get the lyrics straight!

Even with both songs in my head, I love them both and both being the same song!

I just view them as two different songs now-a-days!

2. Tomoe: This song... This song I thought was my top song! Mostly because I hummed it A LOT, it got stuck in my head a lot, and just controlled me for a while! I still feel it is up there. A lot of times I think it is a single, but I forget it is on their newest album!

So yeah.. Very nice!

1. Petit Love: My top song.. Really? Let me just go and check what everyone else put as their top song! ...Looked at them all and they all look pretty different! I see a lot of newer songs on there, but I guess not me! ;D Yeah I chose this song! I wanted to get into it because of DDR! I heard it was on DDR, but I had never seen it or heard it or what! I first saw it on Youtube with a video with ToonTown!

From then on it was STUCK WITH ME! Really I told my self something for the future which I still plan on doing even after 3 years of not doing it yet! I told my self to play this song on a official DDR machine! I still have not done it, but I know there place! "Pinball Pete's" in Ann. Aurbour, Michigan! A long distance away from me and I am still planning on making the trip some day! Just for this song! Nothing else! This song means that much to me that I would travel to about 2 hours away just to hear it on a machine in an arcade! So... I still need to do that! I would really like to thank Smile.DK for this great song and all of their other marvelous songs that they have been making for many many years! I hope that they have more great ones to come in the future! ;D

I'm happy I was able to play 5th mix before everywhere upgraded to Max2 and later versions. I FC'd Papaya - Hero. It made my day since that was back when I sucked even more at DDR than I do now.

You really went there?!

Last time I heard (from DDRFreak) that it was still there!
There is another thing that can happen... That my boss can buy an upgrade kit for his DDR 4th mix solo to 4th mix solo plus... But that is really isn't going to happen! It's like 400 dollars!

I play at a 4th mix solo so I have played Hero! It's really fun!

I'm going to be playing it in a few weeks! ;D

UGH!! This is TOO HARD. It would be easier to make a list of "not-as" favourite songs. Even then, I still like them!!

Now I have to whittle my list of 26 down to 10.

10~ I'll Be There : I absolutely LOVE the synth at the very beginning of this one. Great hard beat. Real groovy tune. Nice lyrics too!! *sniff*

9~ Golden Sky : Oriental sounding and melodically beautiful. The girls harmonize magically.

8~ Future Girls : With a great chorus that gives me chills, this is just a classic. "The mission is the future, and the future never ends!!"

7~ Don't Believe You're Leaving : Yet again, the great synth part, after the first line "If I had X-Ray eyes.." (Wooh-waah) (Or whatever... heh heh) I love the lyrics. You are NOT leaving!! HAH!

6~ Don't Let Go : Catchy, fun and about music! I love the lyrics, "I dated a raver guy, he lost his speech when he got high" and "My last boyfriend was into trance, that guy could really dance, dance, dance" I like the little breathy beats in the chorus. "Haa Haa"

5 ~ Koko Soko : From the very first note, it catches you in its grasp and doesn't let go. Solid beat and great melody. Another Oriental theme that hits it's mark exactly. Fun lyrics to sing along to also!!

4 ~ Domo Domo Domo : Just a fun, upbeat, and fun song. It holds great memories for me as this is one the first songs I heard from SMiLE.dk. This one I particularly want to get up and dance to. Nice steady beat.

3 ~ Summer Party : Has a "flowy" hard sound to it. Reminds me of something Cascada-like with the hand claps. A wonderful party song! =p Beautiful harmonizing with the base at about 2:32. Just an instant hit.

2 ~ Kissy Kissy : Cute! How else can you explain this song? The Oriental synth part with the base hits you with intensity. The lyrics are so great!! I don't have a favourite part. They are all so good. DEFINITELY an instant classic.

1 ~ Dragonfly : The beautiful melody and the wonderful lyrics.. The great hard baseline. The fun play on words "Aie Wow Ah, Aie Aie Ow" My memories of blasting this on the stereo while driving down the highway in the summer.. This has to be my ultimate favourite song.

I feel so bad to leave out all the other great songs, but this is probably my top ten. I'll think about it later and want to add stuff, but I'm forcing myself to leave it.

I'd rather have a top 20... but yeah. XD
