Hey, everyone! Pete Ellison is the man behind some great tracks that had heavy bubblegum and eurobeat influence, and as a result made their way onto this forum years ago. These days he's musically quiet (with the exception of the track "Purple Narwhal" that I shared in an earlier post), but I wanted to bring attention to his current projects and website, where you can find cute tees, tanks and accessories. Just wanted to put the spotlight on an independent artist who has given us a bit of his talent over the years. Here is the bio from his website for anyone who needs a refresher course.
"Pete Ellison is a designer, music producer and DJ from Portland, OR. In Spring 2015 he launched his own fashion line, expressing his love of “kawaii” pop culture, mascot characters and street art. At the heart of his aesthetic is a bright, iconic illustration style ready to adorn everything from prints to stickers to apparel to entire walls. Working tirelessly to vend at parties and anime conventions, his bright and crazy t-shirts have quickly become staple attire for young ravers in the NW.
Musically speaking, Pete (a.k.a. Kid Whatever, Initial P, and probably a dozen other mystery aliases) is well known as the producer & songwriter behind internet cult-favorite label Disko Warp, the massive viral hit “Oh Oh Oh Sexy Vampire”, and the widely distributed “Anime Love Hardcore” series, as well as songs featured in the video games Dance Dance Revolution and Pump It Up. Pete is a frequent DJ guest at anime conventions around the country, and has been a regular guest at Seattle’s rowdy basement dance party “JKPOP”. With close ties to Japan, he has released music with up-and-coming labels Trekkie Trax, Datafruits and 9-Bit Log!Q+, plus remixed Japanese electronic acts like M-Flo and Pa's Lam System."
