Hi, my name is Irk, and I get curious about inconsequential crap! =P
I noticed Maxi Moon were recently added to the site. (Good choice; that song's cute. Had it for a long time.) What I'm curious about is, they're listed as French in the database. Is there any evidence for that? If so, I'm curious what! Thing is, I tried to find more information about the song, and I'm more inclined to trace it back to Germany.
Firstly, Bobby-Car is a German brand of children's riding toys, aimed at helping babies learn to walk. (Makes the mention of "I wanna take you home, with my car, it's easily done" in the song pretty hilarious, if you ask me. =P There's also mention of adult ones, but still.)

Secondly, I found a version of the song in German. It's not a dance song, just a childish little ditty. I found a forum post in German from 2006 indicating this one was used on television, perhaps in an ad for the toy? I can't find a year for this particular version, though I did find a different but equally childish one from 2010.
There's also a hardcore remix of the German version because. Why not, I guess. The group that did this are also German. (Warning, AWFUL)
And another remix of the German language one, also remixed by a German.
The Maxi Moon version also turns up on this soundtrack - it's labeled "Big Bobby Car (Maxi Version)" here. And again, the album is incredibly German.

German Wiki links the Maxi version to a man named Henning Reith, who is... German! (And also connected to Crazy Frog. Yay?) What confuses me there is the fact that the song is said to have been written in 2010, but both the German and English ones seem to outdate that, so... for that, I've got nothin'.

Basically, I get the idea that the German version of this song is a major thing in Germany, one of those things that every little kid has heard because every little kid had this toy. It's very, very German. So unless there is proof otherwise, the idea of a French group covering something like this seems... off.
