Hey all! I went down one of my regular rabbitholes and ended up revisiting the overlooked, underrated Roastinghouse project Three, and uncovered some info in the meantime!
First off, here's Roastinghouse's original marketing blurb for the project:
In addition to their unreleased album, they had a few Christmas songs (Last Christmas, All I Want For Christmas Is You) on this Japanese-only compilation: Dance Xmas BEST~Swedish Dance Style~
Their real names are Sofia, Fanny, Frida Magnusson. They originally sent a demo into Roastinghouse when they were 13, so apparently their album was in the works for a while before being ultimately shelved. They were 14 when they released Lucky Number!
Out of their unreleased debut album, Hypnotize, Crush, and Lucky Number are my favorites.
What do you think about Three?
First off, here's Roastinghouse's original marketing blurb for the project:
One, two - THREE!
Fanny, Frida, and Sofia are three beautiful and talented 17 year old triplets that has been singing together since they were children but have now grown to the unit, THREE.
A new Swedish sensation who’s been working for the last year together with top songwriters and producers to bring out the sound of THREE ! Their lyrics are all about their lives as triplets as well as ordinary teenagers with the struggles and the fantastic times that comes with it; heartaches, being in love, friends, parties and dancing ! The first single is called “Lucky Number” and the girls made their first video recording and loved it ! In 2009 we had three singles released and they all were in the top of the charts on Japan’s most important youth radio station ZIP FM. The Swedish media has been asking frequently for interviews and they have selected a few to get the buzz starting in 2010. A TV show in Swedish national TV and press and radio for their show supporting huge Swedish artist DARIN on a show in Trelleborg where the girls signed autographs for a constant hour to all the kids staring, cause they couldn’t believe their eyes !
THREE is a fresh breath of air with intoxicating pop and dance music with an extremely unique and powerful trio !
Frida, the tough and ambitious one..
Fanny, the funny and crazy one..
Sofia, the nice and sweet one..
