8. Taleesa
Starting our list, we cannot forget Taleesa, an Italian singer who was very successful with her charisma and her charming voice. He must be better known for his 1994 hit "Let Me Be", a song that has some aspects of bubblegum dance, however, some elements of the song leave something to be desired, as it is completely instrumental and Taleesa only repeats the chorus throughout the song. There is also a part where there is a male vocalist providing rap, although he only provides it once. But other than that, it's a great song!
7. Ally & Jo
"The Lion Sleep Tonight" and "Nasty Girl", these are the main hits of this wonderful Italian duo "Ally & Jo". These songs have the same style as Whigfield and, for sure, have a little bit of bubblegum dance between them, although the vocals are neither Ally nor Jo, but Annerley Gordon (who worked for JK and Lalene, and who was allegedly involved in the Whigfield project).
6. Ann Lee
Ann Lee Annerley Gordon in addition to contributing to other projects, has his own: "Ann Lee". She released a single hit "2 Times", which has all the characteristics for a good bubblegum, although her fans do not consider it. It is speculated that when 2 Times was released, some people thought it was a Whigfield song, due to the fact that they didn't know Lol.
5. E-Type
One of Sweden's best-known singers, E-Type, has some songs that seem to sound BGD in some of his songs, such as "Angels Crying" and "Russian Lulaby", which later won an authentic version of BGD released as a track on the album 2001 produced by Toy-Box.
4. 2 Unlimited
2 Unlimited is certainly one of the most memorable bands in Eurodance music, so much so that their songs are played frequently nowadays (especially in games and fighting competitions). One in particular is the song "No Limit", whose music video presents the vocalists in a childlike and simple environment and with very funny and multicolored clothes, something very common in bubblegum dance. Did their success inspire Whigfield? Lol
3. E-Rotic
E-Rotic We can't talk about E-Rotic and not start to smile! They were, in fact, one of the most prominent bands on Eurodance and being well known for presenting provocative lyrics, which could come obvious or not, a style that made them their trademark. Some of his songs look very BGD and, in many places, are credited as being of the same genre. I don't really know why. Other than that, his songs are very good, regardless of his lyrics Lol.
2. Corona
Corona One of the most well-known bands on Eurodance, Corona, led by singer/dancer "Olga de Jesus" (considered as the queen of Eurodance), is best known for her hit "Rhythm of the Night", becoming even more consecrated in the genre. However in 1995, the year that marked the beginning for BGD, she released the single "Baby, Baby". This same song has some characteristics of bubblegum dance, so much so that the pre-chorus of this song very much resembles the pre-chorus of "Roses Are Red" by Aqua.
1. XUXA
And to finish our Top, we could not forget about her "Xuxa" (have you heard?), One of the most successful Brazilian singers in Brazil, besides being a great presenter. In 1996, she decided to release an album called "Xuxa Dance", which contained 12 tracks, including some Eurodance songs, and of course, aimed at her target audience: The Children. More before that, more accurate in 1993, she released a song "Hey DJ", a song that has small similarities, but it does not have a defined musical order and is based more on Eurodance music.
Would she be the exponent of BGD?? Lol My opinion will be the same as Aneela Mirza's when asked about the return of Toy-Box: "I don't know ... Everything is possible" LOL
